Ok Captain Obvious

I love fashion and because of that I have a healthy respect for going to the edge of ridiculous while dressing. EDGE of ridiculous.

I'll just say, no self respecting woman that is hoping to look slightly good this spring will fall fro this "trend". Clear shoes was cute when you were 11 and "Jellys" were all the rage. If you're an adult, STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM CLEAR SHOES! Ok... I've said my peace.

Wait.. one more thing... does anyone find it slightly odd that they made "peep toes" in CLEAR shoes!? What the hell is peepy about that?? Your whole damn foot is showing, for crying out loud!

Ok... said more than my peace.

The Women I Love

Let me say that there are two women in this world... ok, 3... but two famous women in this world I would do anything to meet, or perhaps be... whathaveyou.

Cindi Lauper (which goes without saying) is one of them, but this post isn't about her.

The other is Betsey Johnson. Her clothing line is always the very coolest. Her dresses are super girly, without being lame. Fun, Flirty... her shoes are simply mag. Her bags range from cool to Ohmygod I must have.

Here's a peek into her home. I want it. OH to have the cash to do this.....

According to listing information, the 1,660-square-foot, two bedroom, one bathroom, open-plan penthouse includes ebonized floors, a view over the rooftops of Greenwich Village all the way to New Jersey, a floating staircase that leads to a 1,000-square-foot private roof deck. Right now this pink apartment is for sale for $3.6 million.

Global Bazaar

I STILL Love Target....

To go along with my past "budget furnishing" post, I have decided to post my severe weakness for the Global Bazaar at Target.

This years Global Bazaar is being listed by color rather than location. I love that!! Make sure you check out their website to see some of the cool things you can look at. Below were my three favorite (I so want the Red!)

I did a little research. For me to get the same look in my living room I'd have to spend roughly $1762.80. Not great, but not too darn bad, really!!

Architecture Inspiration - Hobbit House

This is some neat architecture! Can you imagine living in your own hobbit house? It's low impact and "green". But that's kind of secondary to being really neat looking.

Upgraded Modern Pet Bedding

Of course, for the price tag they're getting for these, my cat best be getting a job. But seriously.. who really likes "pet beds" in their living rooms? They're always ugly, and for some reason most places feel the need to make them out of stupid country crappy looking fabric (as if I want geese with bows anywhere near my living areas). But THESE! *sigh* So pretty!

You can find out more and see a ton of other cool pet beds at b.pet.

Budget Furnishings -

Since I'm on a tight budget as of late, I think its important to add a few of the "budget furnishings" I've found around in the less pricey stores (Yes, Walmart... I hate the fact that you need to disinfect yourself after exiting the store, and that you always run the chance of contracting some hideous skin disorder by shopping there, but it's CHEAP dammit!)

Target.................................

$79.99 Magazine Table

$249.99 Metropolitan Loveseat

Wal-Mart...............................

$119.99 Queen Platform Bed -

$34.74 Brushed Steel Task Floor Lamp

Wallies Peel and Stick Chalkboard! This is super cool. How perfect for a kids room, home office, or kitchen?? My suggestion on this to my employer is going to be a "who's coming in" type board. You know when you go visit a business and they have that chinsy board with the white peg letters spelling out that you're visiting? You know... the "Company welcomes :" then they stick your name in? Well, we wanted a huge monitor so we could do something cool like that.. but that's pricey... so this may be a cool idea for now.

Seriously.. this is the coolest thing. If they could just bring down the cost a wee bit, I'd have an order in so fast it'd make their banners spin.

BetterWall sells authentic street banners from museums around the world. You not only get the neatest artwork ever, but a percentage of the proceeds of every banner sold goes back to the museum.

Interiors designed by Jay Jeffers. Some of his interiors a a bit classical for my taste but I like this bedroom that he created for a client in San Francisco.

Applepiedesigns - This decal company really covers all it's design bases. There are so many styles, from simple to kitchy. Apple Pie is a decal company out of Rhode-St-Genèse Belgium, but with a website in English, French, and Dutch it's easy to navigate, although the PDF catelogs do irritate me a bit.

Recently been apartment/condo/loft shopping ~ and one of my biggest priorities are sunlight and big windows and balcony/patios/roofdecks. Too bad i can’t simply pop in a
Bloomframe from Hofman Dujardin Architecten in Amsterdam. As a two in one, balcony and window, the design gives “the possibility to use the surface of an apartment to the maximum.” More imagery of it in different angles below.

Cheap Lovin'!! So maybe it's 'trendy' and it won't be in style in 6 months.. who cares!? It's $40 bucks! Check this (and lots of other really great dinnerware sets) at target.

I was perusing Chicago's Apartment Therapy and found these amazing purse storage/display images posted by "Becky" (I'd give her more credit, but I don't have any info on her other than her pics) Not only does this woman have superior purse purchasing skills, but her way of displaying/storing them is really so creative.
Seriously.

I do get the Modernist feel.. the whole idea that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.. but seriously.

Who wants to feel as if they're being smothered by huge boobs, and have their feet up on a ball of yarn? Ok... perhaps a slightly pervy knitting nut... but.. well.. ew.

I've never been 100% in love with rooms painted pink. There are a few that I've seen pulled off right, but for the most part it always makes me think of living inside a My Pretty Pony cartoon.

This room by Miles Redd really seems to work, though. It could be the fact that I'm desperately in lust with the couch, but I simply adore this look - even with the pink.

Each piece is only $20 and a part of the proceeds goes to a charity of the artist's choice. Too cool.

Kenzo ...

...expresses his beliefs in a multicultural world future through a tableware collection that takes the vibrant colors of nature as its inspiration.
This unique and diverse collection of Kenzo china and glassware illustrates the artistry and vision of the designer. He has chosen ateliers in France and Italy to create this unique collection of Kenzo plates and dinnerware. Definately not a low end, pick up at your local Target type item, but I'm willing to bet you could put something together that looks like this setting. Simply gorgeous!

Check out this gorgeous installation called Falling Garden {2003} by Gerda Steiner & Jörg Lenzliner at the San Staë Church in Venice. Make sure to go to the website for more photos.. they're really amazing!
